Our New Rock Diva Jennifer

is a Veteran of the Midwest Rock and Musical Theater Scene, as Well as the Music Director of the Most Successful School of Rock Franchise in the Country. Jennifer holds a BFA in Acting from Kent State University and an M.Phil in Irish Theatre Studies from Trinity College Dublin. Her study and experience teaching performance skills, styles and stagecraft help her rock vocals students gain a better sense of freedom onstage. As a working musician herself, Jennifer helps her students understand the professional aspects of the music industry. She serves on the SOR Instrument Advisory Group and is an active member of CAEF (Chicago Arts Educators’ Forum). Jennifer brings a wicked sense of humor and formidable energy to all of her work and is passionate about the School of Rock program.

She lives in Oak Park with her husband, Aaron Walters, an actor, and her young son, Desmond, a Lightening McQueen enthusiast. Jennifer has been seen and heard on stages and recordings for many years and has played about every club in the city. From duos to small bands to jobbing bands, tribute acts and a ten-piece orchestra, both lead and back-up singing, she has gained knowledge of the industry. One of her career highlights was getting to play CBGB before they shuttered. Her musical alter-ego, ‘Eva Destruction’, was once heralded as ‘the purest punk rock artist alive today’ by a music critic who seemed to forget Joe Strummer was still breathing at the time. So, she’s got that going for her.
